Market Entry Intelligence

Know the market before you commit capital.

Before a company registers anything in Kenya, it should know who will buy, what it will cost to serve them, which licences the activity needs and which partners deserve trust. Gate 01 answers those questions in writing, with evidence a board can act on.

Boards, founders and regional directors deciding whether, where and how to enter Kenya.
Where it sits
Before entry: weeks 1 to 6 of a typical engagement
Outcome
A go decision, a chosen entry vehicle and a licence plan.

How it works

Five steps, one accountable partner.

Every step is agreed in writing at the start, with a named partner who answers for it.

  1. Brief

We agree the decisions the study must support, the questions it must answer and the deadline.

  2. Desk research

We assemble official data, regulatory texts and sector sources, and map the competitive field.

  3. Field work

We interview buyers, distributors, regulators and industry bodies, in person where it matters.

  4. Analysis

We test the entry options against your criteria and size the opportunity with explicit assumptions.

  5. Report and debrief

You receive a written report and a working session with your board or leadership team.

What you receive

Deliverables you can file, audit and act on.

Questions

About Market Entry Intelligence.

If your question is not here, a partner will answer it on a discovery call.

Ask us directly
How long does a market entry study take?

Most studies run four to six weeks from brief to debrief. A focused regulatory scan or a single due diligence report takes less. We fix the timetable when we agree the brief.

Can you check a partner we have already chosen?

Yes. Partner due diligence is often the first thing clients ask for. We confirm the company's registration and ownership records, search for litigation and check its standing with people who have dealt with it.

Do you only cover Nairobi?

No. We compare locations across Kenya, including Mombasa and the Special Economic Zones, and we assess Kenya as a base for the wider East African market.
